Psychometric tools in Selection-???

Dear All,

It's pretty cold out here in India especially North India experiencing nice winter and heavy rains down south. I thought I will raise a hot topic for debate and discussion.

We are talking about the use of psychomtric tools during the selection process. I have heard diffrent people commenting on the use of these tools by professionals in various organisations. some of the comments are like

The tests are administered by people with out proper training or Qualification
Wrong selection of tools
People want a quick answer to everything
Psychometric tools are the ultimate in selection process
It gives a complete picture of the persons ability
Use of free online tools
Most people use it as an elimination Tool and not as a selection tool.
Looking forward to have a meaningful discussion on this subject.
